Hey everybody,

We're more than two weeks into 2018, but it's a slow season for video games, so let's do this anyway. Here are our 10 favourite video games of 2017 and the platforms we played them on.

Honorable Mentions: Yakuza 0 (PS4 Pro), South Park: The Fractured But Whole (Xbox One X)

10. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle (Nintendo Switch)

XCOM, but with Mario and Ubisoft's Rabbids. If I have to say more to convince you, we can't be friends.

9. Gravity Rush 2 (PS4 Pro)

The combat is pretty bad and the mission design is annoying, but damn does flying (or more accurately falling - it's a whole thing) around the world they built feel good. 

8. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Nintendo Switch)

I still don't understand what I'm actually doing most of the time. What I do know is that I can't stop playing this charming JRPG.

7. Mass Effect Andromeda (Xbox One X)

The consensus on this game is wrong. It's a worth sequel to the original trilogy, and combat is better than it has ever been. 

6. Assassin's Creed: Origins (Xbox One X)

I'm not happy with some of the changes they made to the Assassin's Creed formula, but Origins is still a captivating video game. It's also the most beautiful game I have ever seen.

5. Splatoon 2 (Nintendo Switch)

I go hard in the paint.

4. Bury Me, My Love (iOS)

A gut wrenching yet hopefull text message simulator about a young woman fleeing from Syria to Germany. Don't talke to me about video game stories in 2017 if you haven't played this.

3. Golf Story (Nintendo Switch)

A surreal, funny RPG with a contemporary setting, that also happens to be a very fun Golf game. That's really all I want from a video game.

2. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Nintendo Switch)

1. Super Mario Odyssey (Nintendo Switch)
