Hey Young World,
This is the new edition of 1520’s Record Report, our series of monthly articles in which we recommend things we’re currently into.
We’ve picked the name Record Report in honor of Hip Hop magazine The Source, which’s album review section went under that name and, when we were growing up, told us what was worth copping and what wasn’t. In our own small way, we hope to do the same.

Sor - Insomnia (Album)
It would be an understatement to say that mainstream rap music is going through a rough patch, creatively and commercially. I’m therefore all the more happy when a mainstream rap album does break through the wall of mediocrity. Insomnia, the new album by Dutch rap star Sor from Almere (shout-out to our client Flevolab), does exactly that. The production leans into noisy, almost chaotic textures - at times reminiscent of Carti-style energy - but always in a controlled, very listenable way. It gives the record urgency and edge, while Sor and his guests (Adje!!) stay sharp, reflective, and fully in command.
STumble (TV Series)
Stumble is a mockumentary sitcom about a once-top college cheer coach rebuilding her career with a rag‑tag junior college squad in some hick town. Shot in classic single‑camera style with awkward pauses and sharp cutaways, it leans into absurdity like 30 Rock, but is still grounded enough to make you care about every misfit on the team.
One Love,
