This is second edition of 1520’s Record Report, our new series of monthly articles in which we recommend things we’re currently into.
We’ve picked the name Record Report in honor of Hip Hop magazine The Source, which’s album review section went under that name and, when we were growing up, told us what was worth copping and what wasn’t. In our own small way, we hope to do the same.
Mieko Kawakami - Ms Ice Sandwich

Hacks (TV Series)
Hacks is a a series about a cancelled millennial TV writer from L.A. who starts working for a seemingly washed-up boomer comedy legend in Las Vegas. Not only is the show incredibly funny, but it’s also a heartfelt depiction of intergenerational conflict and friendship. It is also a scathing critique of the patriarchal structures in the entertainment industry. Watch the trailer:
